Enhance your historic home restoration with this beautiful lot of antique Bennington-style mineral door knobs (also known as Rockingham glaze or tiger-eye knobs). Dating back to the late 19th or early 20th century, these highly collectible pieces are a testament to classic American craftsmanship.
Rather than real stone, these knobs are crafted from heavy, durable fired porcelain. They feature the iconic, deeply saturated tortoiseshell pattern with beautiful dark brown, honey-amber, and fiery orange swirls designed to mimic luxurious burl wood. Because they were created by hand-mixing different clays before firing, every single knob features a completely unique, one-of-a-kind pattern.
Please note- This listing is for one pair of knobs. The pictures show 4 different pairs. At the time of this listing I have 4 pairs for sale. If you would like to purchase 1 pair, please choose the number knob you want to purchase, and message me with your choice. Each one is slightly different. If you want to buy more than one pair, you can choose that in the quantity, and also get a discount for ordering more than one! One pair of knobs is $25.
If no message is sent explaining which number knob is wanted, I will reach out to message you. If I don't get a response in a day, I will choose one and ship out.
If they sell individually, I will update the info below, and write which number knob has been sold, so please make sure your selection hasn't been sold before you purchase.
Each knob measures approximately 2.25" in diameter, give or take a little. They all have white paint spots in the middle, as well as normal amounts of rust on the metal.
Knob number 1- This knob has only one screw in the middle part
Knob number 2- This knob has one knob slightly bigger than the other. You wouldn't be able to tell because they would be on different sides of the door, but I just want it to be known they are ever so slightly different sizes.
Knob number 3- This knob has no screws in the middle part. It also has one knob slightly bigger than the other. You wouldn't be able to tell because they would be on different sides of the door, but I just want it to be known they are ever so slightly different sizes.
Knob number 4- This know has only one screw in the middle part.
Please make sure to look at pics closely, and feel free to reach out with any questions. Thanks for looking!
